Bhote Koshi Gorge near Thame

The Bhote Koshi river in full throttle at a gorge near Thame village. In 1985, when the Dig Tsho lake burst near Dig, the water passed through this gorge with high pressure, damaging the landscape and the terrain on both sides of the gorge. The result is that the landslides are still active on either sides of the gorge. The debris and flash flood triggered by the 1985 GLOF even made sharp cutting on either sides of the river banks making them unstable and vulnerable to landslides and errosion both wind and water.
