Dawa Steven makes it to the top of the world!

Dawa Steven Sherpa, Eco Everest Expedition leader, reached the Summit of Mount Everest on 26 May 2008 at 06:55 local time, his second ascent of Everest. Dawa Steven took the ICIMOD flag with him to the summit to mark the 25th anniversary of ICIMOD.

Dawa Steven, aware of the imminent threat to the Himalayas posed by climate change, dedicated this expedition to drawing maximum global attention to the issues of climate change and melting glaciers in the Himalayas as well as promoting eco-friendly approaches to climbing.
