Apa Sherpa summits Mount Everest

Apa Sherpa, the well known Everest summitter and a member of the Eco Everest Expedition 2008 successfully summitted the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, on the morning of 22 May 2008.   Apa Sherpa has broken his own world record with this 18th climb to the top!

"I feel strong and well. There are a lot of people on the top. I am going to go back down now," said Apa during a satellite phone call to his family at 6:18 p.m.
